Outside of Dubois, WY the hint of the Tetons. The general concensus in the car was that the French trappers had spent too much time away from civilization if these mountains gave any resemblance to a female breast.
I am glad that are original plan fell through. We had planned on flying from Denver to Jackson and then make the 80 mile drive to Old Faithful, but we were unable to get three seats on the same plane so we gave up. We arrived in the Tetons just before sundown and what a view ( a view that is hard to capture on a digital camera with low batteries). We went to eat at the Jackson Lodge. The place was packed because they were hosting the International Wildlife Film Festival. We crowded on to the Deck to view the mountains at sunset ( during their Sundown Cocktail Hour).
Most people who go to Yellowstone, camping is the major way to see the park. We happen to go a little late in the season ( and my bride always plans) and we stayed at the Old Faithful Inn. The Inn has a 3 story fireplace in the lobby and most important... no TV!
