Motehr’s Day Pano

This is such a beautiful day and tomorrow is going to be better… and then it is expected to snow 1 to 3 inches.

This is such a beautiful day and tomorrow is going to be better… and then it is expected to snow 1 to 3 inches.
Taking a walk in Downtown Denver on a Friday hight with the missus and the weather has turned for the best. It was in the 70’s after 6pm and I just need to capture the light. Earlier in the week the sun was out and it was almost 80 and the next day it snowed a couple of inches on my ride home on the Vespa..
Enough!!!
I can’t believe that not only has March come and gone but it is almost mid April. My birthday came and went without any hysteria on my part. I am avoiding the middle age part if I think of my grandmother’s brother Michael live to be 96, then I am cool. So 47 is not middle aged but if I think of the other males in the family tree the ages limits range from 38 to 76. Then I am screwed.
So much for angst but the weather is getting better but my cough isn’t. The Vespa riding is getting to be more fun than transportation which is a sign of spring. The above foto is from a walk last summer. I want the leaves back.

Spring is in the air. You can see the ice on the lakes at 8500 feet and it isn’t even March.

My son has friends in this band and boy were they great. They are 17 and 18 years old and they rock (err the Jazz?). Their style is almost a herbie hancock meets Zappa instrumental. Sean on bass and Michael on drums go to the Denver School of the Arts and Ryan on guitar and Zach on sax go to East High. About fifty people paid a 5 dollar cover and I must say that the boys put on at least a $6 show.

I know that head line resembles one from the Onion but that’s how it was. Geoff is not really as mean as he looks. There was a table to the right of this photo that broke out in what was possibly a Journey song. Such a High School move that I did not get it. Then as we determined that we were 20 years older than this group. It was so loud, I heard everything and nothing in particular. We had a nice conversation, 4 pints, got our t shirts and left in time for Geoff to get the last train and me to get the last bus. I was home 15 minutes before Eamon.

Scanning old photos and got this fron my parents honeymoon in Hawaii. If I lived in Colorado Springs or I was a strict Catholic you could say that this was my first trip to Hawaii as I was about 4 1/2 months from birth. Alas I don’t consider it a trip unless you walk around or get a trinket from the gift shop yourself. I’ll get to the Big Island one day.

Spent the weekend going over my old slides and some of my dad’s slides. I came across this and had to scan it. My niece, Laurel on the left and her brother Zac stop in to see the grandparents and I took this shot. Zac will be 30 this year. I hope he gets a giggle out of this. I did!

With the weather being too cold for the Vespa I find myself riding RTD ( Regional Transportation Dept. or reason To Drive). At least I am going the other way than the masses. The Light Rail gets me downtown and I walk a block and the next bus drops me off in front of my building.
Of course I have my camera with me at all times so here is a photograph front the Alameda Station waiting for the next train.
